The dreary UK weather is certainly leaving a lot to be desired in terms of summer at the moment and you’re probably packing your bags in anticipation of a beach holiday. If so, the blazing hot sun of Cyprus has your name on it and Paphos is an excellent choice so here’s a taste of the best beaches on which you can sun yourself…
Alykes Beach
If you like to roll out of bed and onto the sand, Alykes Beach is the one for you. Located in the heart of Paphos and surrounded by hotels, bars and restaurants it really is on your doorstep and offers everything you could possibly need… Sun loungers: check, cocktails: check, calm waters: check and soft sand: check. It’s an ideal beach for families and couples alike and with water sports on offer plus shopping available in close proximity it’s a great choice for all.
Coral Bay
Often declared the most beautiful beach in the area, Coral Bay is less than a 20 minute drive from Paphos. The blue flag status of the golden sands and twinkling waters makes for many happy customers. Just relax on the sunbeds and have a swim or try some of the fun activities on offer such as water skiing.
Faros Beach
If you want to escape the crowds of the main city beach and enjoy your own little slice of heaven, Faros Beach is a worthy contender. 
Chill out with a game of volleyball on the beach, bask in the warm shallow waters and enjoy the great views. All the facilities you need including showers can be found and access is really easy so it’s a great family friendly option.
Geroskipou Beach
Another gorgeous blue flag beach is to be found in Geroskipou, a very short drive or 20 minute walk from the centre of Paphos. The breakwater makes it exceptionally safe for swimming although as with most of the other beaches, duty lifeguards are an added extra. Kick back and relax on the beautiful stretch of sand or enjoy the fantastic snorkelling in the bay.
Lara Bay Beach
The beach found at Cape Lara is equally as beautiful as any of the competition but it has something a little extra special up its sleeve. You won’t find umbrellas and sun loungers; instead you will find a vastly deserted beach populated by green and leatherback turtles! Access is restricted during the evenings so as not to disturb them but a visit during the day will add a little something extra to your holiday.
Pachyammos Beach
Although similar to Alykes Beach, Pachyammos is on a much smaller scale with a narrow stretch of sand on offer. It does offer you an additional option if you don’t want to travel far and boasts sun bed and umbrella hire, a variety of water sports and lifeguards on duty which will put parents’ minds at ease.
